Overview of the Scholarship

Quentin Bryce Law Doctoral funding is provided by the University of Technology, Sydney. The scholarship will commence from 2020 to 2021. National, as well as international students, can apply for the scholarship. With this fellowship, the students will be able to perform research activities in a dynamic and challenging environment that will encourage them to think differently and uniquely.

Students applying from outside Australia or not having Australian nationality have to pass an English equivalent exam and provide its scores along with the application form. The University of Technology, even though being reinstated in 1988, has its basis in the 1870s making it well-established.

Scholarship Descriptions

  • Application Deadline: application deadlines vary depending upon the nationality:
    1. For national candidates: April 30, 2020
    2. For international candidates: January 15, 2020
  • Course Level: Postgraduate (research, PhD.)
  • Study Subject: Law
  • Scholarship Award: The award includes
    1. 40,000$ annually for four years
    2. 1500$ research fund per annum
    3. Paid leaves for health issues (sickness, maternity, or parenting)
  • Number of Scholarships: unknown
  • Nationality: both national and international
  • Scholarship can be taken in the university of technology, Sydney, Australia

Eligibility of the Scholarship

Candidates’ eligibility will be checked on a competitive basis and hence the number of scholarships. To be eligible, the applicant must possess

  • A master degree with research
  • A first-rate bachelor’s degree
  • Equivalent attainment accepted by the university

For students applying internationally, English language requirements must be met with an appropriate IELTS, TOEFL, or equivalent exam scores.

  • Copies of academic transcripts and degrees (English)
  • A CV or resume
  • Research topic outline (500 words)
  • A cover letter which depicts your interest and aims of studying at UTS

After pre-assessment,

  • A full research proposal
  • Application form
  • Scholarship form

Application Procedure

Months ahead of applying for the scholarship or admission, at least six weeks earlier, the candidate must submit the required documents to the Law Research Office by mail. After assessing the documents, the university informs whether you are eligible to apply or not. In case of affirmation, the candidate then submits his/her research proposal and then the application form.
